“Best Poster Presentation” and “Most Voted Poster by Participants” Awards: Dr. Chin Siok Fong

Congratulations to Dr. Chin Siok Fong who won both “Best Poster Presentation” and “Most Voted Poster by Participants” awards at the International Conference on Antioxidants & Degenerative Diseases (ICADD) 2018: New Frontiers in Omics and Redox Medicine. The event was held on 18^th – 19^th July 2018 at the Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences, Malaysia.

Dr. Chin presented her work on gut microbiome in a poster entitled “A Secretomic Landscape of Human Gut Microbiome in Healthy and Colorectal Cancer-Stricken Gut”. In her work, quantitative mass spectrometry was performed to identify human and microbial secretome proteins extracted from stool samples of both colorectal cancer patients and healthy subjects. Several interesting proteins from both human and microbial origins were highlighted in the presentation; these proteins may trigger new interests on the role of gut microbiota in carcinogenesis.
