Congratulations: Prof. Datuk Dr. A Rahman A Jamal’s appointment as an Honorary Professor at the University of Dundee

We would like to convey our heartiest congratulations to our Founding Director and Senior Principal Research Fellow, Professor Datuk Dr. A Rahman A Jamal, for being appointed as an Honorary Professor of Molecular and Clinical Medicine at the University of Dundee. The appointment started on 23rd June 2020 for a period of 3 years.

As an icon in molecular medicine research, the international recognition given to Professor Datuk Dr. A Rahman A Jamal is certainly well-deserved. He is an esteemed researcher and a strong advocate of personalized and precision medicine in Malaysia. He has headed numerous national research initiatives, including but not limited to The Malaysian Cohort (TMC) project and The Cancer Genome Atlas Malaysia (TCGA-My). More recently, Professor Datuk Dr. A Rahman A Jamal secured a MRC UK-Malaysia joint research grant together with researchers from the University of Dundee to investigate type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular complications, and using genotyping and the retinal scan as predictive tools. We hope that his appointment as an Honorary Professor will lead to more collaborations between researchers from UKM and those from the University of Dundee.
