UMBI’s Post-graduate Programmes Granted Accreditation Status for Another 5 Years
On the 19th of September 2019, UMBI had its post-graduate programmes audited and assessed by a distinguished assessment panel according to the Code of Practice for Programme Accreditation 2 (COPPA 2.0). The panel consisted of (i) Associate Professor Yanti Rosli from the School of Diagnostic and Health Sciences of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) as an internal assessor; and (ii) Professor Dr Narazah Mohd Yusoff from the Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI) of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) as an external assessor. The audit schedule started at 8.30 am with briefings given by Dr Chin Siok Fong and Assoc. Prof. Yanti. This was followed by interviews involving the upper management, the programme coordinator, the lecturers and finally the students. The panel also visited the offices and labs in UMBI. Generally, the panel was very satisfied with the existing MSc and PhD programmes in UMBI and UMBI was given an overall 4.80 marks (out of 5.0) and was granted accreditation status for another five years.
