UMBI is looking for a 1x full-time MSc candidate working on cancer research.

Project Grant: Dana Impak Perdana UKM
Stipend: 1-2 years stipend will be given (RM1600-1800). Candidates who have scholarship/fellowship are encouraged to apply but not required.
Project location: UMBI, PPUKM Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

Requirements:
- cGPA >3.0
- Degree in Molecular Medicine, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetics, or related fields.
- Candidates who have experienced in basic cell culture or basic molecular techniques and proactive in research are preferred, but not required.

Techniques that will be learned: Tissue culture, cloning, CRISPR/Cas gene editing tools, western blotting, fluorescence microscopy.
Summary of Project: The objective of this exciting project is to unravel the mechanisms that govern the secretion of AGR2 and understand how the extracellular AGR2 promotes tumorigenesis. In brief, this project will utilize the human breast cancer cell lines as the study model and comprised of several state-of-the-art laboratory techniques that include genetic screening using the latest gene editing tool CRISPR, genetic engineering, fluorescence cells imaging and in vitro functional assays.
