Working Visit from Dr Sanjay Chotirmall, Nanyang Technological University (NTU)
UMBI received a working visit from Dr Sanjay Chotirmall of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on 1st March, 2018. Dr Sanjay is an assistant professor in NTU and the Principal Investigator of the Translational Respiratory Research Laboratory, Lee Kong Chian (LKC) School of Medicine, NTU. He was accompanied by Dr Micheál MacAogain who is a Senior Post-doctoral Research Fellow of the research group. The group’s research focuses on infection, inflammation, and immunity in chronic inflammatory respiratory diseases that affect Asian populations.
Dr Sanjay and Dr Micheál visited the follow-up phase recruitment site for the Malaysian Cohort on 6th floor, UMBI building. This was followed by a research discussion between the visitors and Prof Datuk Dr. Rahman Jamal, Prof Dr. Shamsul Azhar Shah and Dr. Neoh Hui-min. Among proposed projects from the discussion include projects on COPD and bronchiectasis, and the possibility of scientists and research students exchange between UMBI and the Translational Respiratory Research Laboratory.
