Professor Dr. Naoyuki Yoshino
Dean of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) and Professor Emeritus at Keio University, Tokyo, Japan
Professor Dr. Naoyuki Yoshino, is the Dean and Chief Executive Officer of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) under the direction of the President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He is also Professor Emeritus at Keio University. Professor Yoshino is also a visiting professor at Yayasan Tun Ismail Mohamed Ali Foundation, Faculty of Economics and Management in 2016. Hence, this visit is his second time in Malaysia.
Professor Yoshino earned a PhD from Johns Hopkins University and was appointed a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and in several other major universities as well. Throughout his academic career, Professor Yoshino has worked and wrote extensively on various financial and economic issues, including Japan’s monetary policy and national banking system, Japanese pension system and financial education needs. He has also published more than 80 articles in finance and economics, 11 textbooks, and has been involved in various national policy makers.
Professor Yoshino served and played a key role as an advisor to financial problems in the Japanese government and now serves as Head of Advisory Center for Financial Research at the Financial Services Agency (FSA) and Asset Management Chairman to retirement funds at the Japan Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare. Therefore, he is the best candidate to comment on and discuss more on issues related to Infrastructure Development and Financial Education at the 12th PERKEM Keynote Session.
